Baby Bright Eyes was founded in 2012 by Samantha Royle, a new mum from Sheffield, Yorkshire. Whilst on maternity leave, she’d taken her son Jude to all the usual classes – baby yoga, signing, swimming, singing, you name it. Together, they had a ball. She’d even made full use of those strolls around the park, learning Italian on her Smartphone. But she was frustrated by the lack of a language option for Jude.
A few years earlier, she’d been inspired by her sister, Nicola, who had started to learn Spanish. Hearing this, her young son Henry, then 2, starting asking her the names of various items around the house, shaking his head at the English, and lighting up when she told him the Spanish. His vocabulary grew and grew, and best of all, he loved learning!
After sampling a few of the baby language CDs, books and DVDs on the market, and finding them lacking, Samantha decided to set up Baby Bright Eyes.
She designed the course in collaboration with experts from Leeds University, along with plenty of input from her sister and other local parents.
